The one and only Lauren Graham that portrayed Lorelai Gilmore gave us a peek into the world of the amazing show Gilmore Girls. But much more than that. Talking As Fast As I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between is a great book coming from an insider of the world we read more about in tabloid articles.
A very real, down-to-earth conversation throughout the book allows us to understand who Lauren is, and how she sees the world herself. We follow her from her early acting career, even before that and get a glimpse of how it was for her starting out.
Then, of course, we move to the big role that made her famous, Lorelai. How it all fell into place and how much fun they had on set filming the first 7 seasons of the show.
It’s very fun to read her account of how the Hollywood media takes over and how a young actor might find themselves in a very awkward position at times. It’s also a book about writing a book if that makes sense. Great writing advice within as well.
I enjoyed it very very much I have to admit. The format of the book was also great, even if I never mention this. I read in less than a day, that’s how easy-going and fun it is. Awesome book that I recommend to anyone who loves the show and loves her as an established name in this business.
The second part of the book has a little diary she kept while filming the latest portrayal of the Gilmores. The show was last year on Netflix (Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life). We also see how that came to life and how emotional it all was. Beautifully written and a joy to read!
Hope you’ll love it as well.
