The start may be a bit weird, up to the point when you get used to the style. Basically, it is a book about different people, somehow connected. But we see glimpses of their lives and how they go about their days. All of it happens in Edinburgh. The Glasgow Necropolis

Necropolis Tombs Sun Tree

A very interesting spot to visit in busy Glasgow. The Necropolis is an inter-denominational cemetery by the Glasgow Cathedral. It was established in 1832 and had more than fifty-thousand people there. It’s a wonderfully designed place with Victorian architecture and a complex topography. It makes you think that you are in a city of the dead. I would advise going on a sunny day if you catch that in Scotland. But the scene is something worth seeing.
